I was 11 years old when I first discovered Harry Potter. A guy in my class told me it was too difficult for me, so I shouldn’t start reading the books. You can start guessing what my reaction was. In less than a week I had read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was a revelation. I felt so connected to the wizarding world. This was a whole new journey for me. Little did I know that 15 years later I would still be as hooked as I was back then.
Harry Potter and I grew up together. It also helped that we were roughly the same age. I always felt like he was my friend, I knew him intimately. Harry Potter also helped me through a lot of dark periods in my life. It was my go to story. Every kid should have that. It doesn’t have to be a book, it can also be a movie or something else but it has to be something that gives you an escape from the world around you.
Like all good things in life, Harry Potter also came to an end. After 7 books and 8 movies it was done. Or was it? Soon enough announcements of new material came. The website Pottermore was launched with new content and new insights to the story. A new set of movies were also set to be released. The movie adaptation of Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. It was not so over after all. The announcement of the play had me fuming. The play would be in London. How were we, the other fans, supposed to see it?
But then, J.K Rowling proved once again why we absolutely love her. The play would be written down in a book. How amazing was that? I know I am geeking out, but can you blame me? I simply love the franchise. I hope my future husband will love it too. It would be amazing to share it. Can you imagine being a character in that world? To be able to have magic? What would my life be like? Definitely more exciting than now, I’m sure. I would summon Michael Fassbender. Have you seen the guy? All pure male and hotness. I would stare at him all day, his sexy face and body. Sorry getting into creepy-land. Perhaps it is time for me to stop talking. Until next time my sweets.
